Hitting Our Heads Against the Wall

It happened again. The refusal to get out of bed. Hiding in the bathroom. The crying on the way to carpool. My poor, sweet 12-year-old boy does not like school. He wants to like it...and he likes most of it. But he hates math and it's the last period of the day so it feels like the whole day. That's what he told me this morning. How much longer do I try to fit him into compulsory education. Is this learning? What is this teaching him? Are these the things I want him to learn?
